This site was created during COVID by filmmaker/video producer, Patrick Rea, to explore a new art form... That of adapting Rare Classic Art Lenses to Modern Professional Digital Cameras. During the Golden Age Of Photography (60's, 70's, 80's) "Character" and Bokeh were everything (today it is autofocus), and brands like Nikon, Pentax, and Zeiss were at war, with the portrait focal lengths (35mm-135mm) being their battle ground... Today the world is rediscovering these jewels that in many ways blow away modern lenses.

What makes a lens a Classic? The same thing that makes a car a classic... "art." The difference is Classic Cars ARE art, whereas Classic Lenses MAKE art.

Lenses really specialized back then, so you have to take the time and learn what its specialty was, and how to make it "sing." The optical formulas and proprietary coatings of a 50mm 1.4 Nikor, Takumar, Helios, or Pancolar rendered a signature aesthetic that was as distinguishable as a 69 Camero was from a 69 Ferrari 365 GTS. Add image processing to the equation and you get mind blowing images that were never meant to exist.

I have returned to my career and am no longer taking bookings on this website. If you are interested in a photo shoot with lenses from my collection, contact me at: [email protected]
